Standing With the Organizations That
STAND for Nature
Because the teams doing the hardest work for the planet deserve more than just hope. They deserve strategies that actually deliver.
Our Services for Nonprofits
The world’s conservation challenges are urgent and complex. Addressing them requires more than plans that look good on paper. It requires projects, programs, and organizations designed to measure, learn, adapt, and continuously improve. We help nonprofits accelerate their impact through a range of tailored services. Organizational Strategic Planning
Many conservation organizations have a strategic plan. Fewer have one that actually drives decisions, aligns their team, and tells them whether they’re making progress.
We work alongside nonprofits to build strategies that do more than sit on a shelf. We help create plans that clearly define what success looks like, map a realistic path to get there, and shape the internal structures needed to follow through.

Collaborative Conservation Planning
Too many conservation plans are built for the proposal, not for reality. They look rigorous on paper but offer little guidance when conditions shift, partnerships evolve, or new information emerges.
We help organizations develop adaptive conservation plans designed for the long-term, while providing the facilitation and coaching support to keep teams aligned as the work unfolds.

Program Design & Project Management
Conservation programs rarely stall because of weak ideas. They lose momentum when too much is happening at once, deadlines pile up, and no one is holding the moving parts together.
We act as a dedicated project office for your initiatives, coordinating workplans, budgets, partners, and timelines so delivery stays on track. From program design through hands-on project management, we keep the many moving pieces aligned and maintain the momentum that turns plans into completed work.

Training, Capacity Building, & Fundraising
Most conservation nonprofits don’t have dedicated GIS analysts, project managers, or monitoring and evaluation specialists on staff, yet their work demands all three. Talented teams end up stretched across roles they were never resourced to fill.
We help close that gap. Through hands-on training we build lasting skills within your team, and where extra capacity is needed we provide that support directly. We also help identify and apply for the best sources of funding, including grant writing, so you can drive growth and deliver lasting impact.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning
Most conservation organizations are busy delivering, but far fewer can show whether their work is actually making a difference. Without the right indicators and feedback loops, it is hard to know what to keep doing, what to change, and how to demonstrate impact to funders.
We help organizations design and run monitoring, evaluation, and learning that works in practice: defining clear indicators, setting up data systems that fit the team’s capacity, and turning results into decisions. We also carry out independent mid-term and end-of-term project evaluations, and build the reflection and reporting routines that give funders credible evidence of impact.
“We hired GCS to do a complex piece of work for us at WWF within a short period of time. They were able to tackle the challenge head on and complete the project on time and on budget, while keeping us informed regularly on the project’s progress. I highly recommend GCS to help tackle complex conservation challenges.”
“We hired GCS to help us with our team’s strategic plan. They showed great professionalism and knowledge about the strategic planning process and were a lot of fun to work with. I would confidently recommend GCS to conduct any strategic planning process in collaboration with teams.“
“Our team really enjoyed working with GCS to develop our strategic plan. The facilitators’ knowledge of conservation was a real value add, and they did a great job of keeping us focused on our long-term goal and identifying how our proposed activities would achieve it.“
“GCS’s adept facilitation enabled our Board of Directors, staff and consultants to improve our communication, collective problem-solving skills, and overall effectiveness. We are extremely pleased with our new 10-year strategic plan that will solidify our future success in watershed conservation.”
“We had a very positive experience working with GCS on setting up the DCNA’s Key Habitats Program. They are excellent facilitators, asking the right questions, guiding us toward decisions, allowing space for input while maintaining structure and progress, and communicating clearly with strong expertise.”
